On Thursday 15 December, in the main auditorium of the Christian Academy of Theology in Warsaw, solemn doctoral promotions took place.
Doctoral promotions are of a special character, because they are the final and pleasing accent of many years of effort on the part of the doctoral students and the scientific care of the promoters. The doctoral oath, in which it is mentioned that they should keep the good memory of the Academy, behave with dignity and cultivate and develop their scientific research not for the sake of vain glory but out of the desire to spread the truth, was taken by 7 doctoral students from the Faculty of Theology at CHAT.
The ceremony was attended by the Rector, Archbishop Prof. Jerzy Pańkowski, the Vice-Rector for Finance and Development, Rev. Prof. Bogusław Milerski, the Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Prof. Renata Nowakowska-Siuta, the Dean of the Faculty of Theology, Prof. Prof. Jerzy Ostapczuk, the Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Theology and the Director of the Doctoral School of ChAT, Prof. Prof. Jakub Slawik and the Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Dr Izabela Kochan, as well as the promoters and families of the doctoral students.
In keeping with the tradition of our Alma Mater, a Christmas Eve Meeting of the ChAT academic community began at 12.00, attended by the University authorities, academic teachers, administrative staff, students and doctoral students, and listeners of the Ecumenical University of the Third Age.
On this special day, we listened to carols performed by the men’s choir of the Christian Academy of Theology in Warsaw under the direction of Professor Włodzimierz Wołosiuk.
