Doctoral proceedings at the ChAT Doctoral School
Doctoral proceedings are conducted in accordance with the Law on Higher Education and Science of 30 August 2018 (Journal of Laws 2018, item 1668).
Within 3 months from the date of starting education at the Doctoral School, a supervisor or supervisors shall be appointed at the request of the doctoral student.
A doctoral candidate who is a participant of education at the Doctoral School shall in particular meet the requirements set out in points (1) to (3) of Article 186(1) or (2).
In particular:
the learning outcomes of modern foreign language skills confirmed by a language certificate or diploma of study completion, certifying knowledge of this language at the at least B2 level of language proficiency;
The condition for initiating the procedure is the publication of a scientific text in a journal or reviewed materials from an international conference included in the list of Ministry of Education and Science or a peer-reviewed scientific monograph published in the publishing house included in the Ministry of Education and Sciencelist. On the basis of transitional provisions (Journal of laws 2018, item 1669) in proceedings initiated before 31 December 2021, also publishing before 1.01.2019 a scientific text in a journal from the earlier list of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education(issued 25 January 2017). The journal ought to have been included in Part A, C or in Part B of the list. Publications from the B list must have been granted a minimum 10 points. In the case of peer-reviewed materials from international conferences those that were included in the list of 31 July 2019 apply, as well as a peer-reviewed scientific monograph published in the publishing house included in the list from 18 January 2019.
Details of the proceedings are regulated by the Rules of Procedure on granting degrees at the Christian Theological Academy in Warsaw and the Regulations of the ChAT Doctoral School adopted by the resolutions of the ChAT Senate of 19 September 2019.
Initiation of doctoral proceedings in an extramural mode
They are conducted in accordance with the Law on Higher Education and Science of 30 August 2018 (Journal of Laws of 2018, item 1668, as amended).
An applicant for a doctoral degree in an extramural mode shall submit an application for the appointment of a supervisor or supervisors prior to the initiation of the proceeding.
The procedure for granting the doctoral degree shall be initiated at the request of a person meeting the requirements set out in points (1) to (3) of Article 186(1) or (2). The application shall be accompanied by a doctoral thesis accompanied by a positive opinion of the supervisor or supervisors.
The candidate to obtain a PhD in this mode must meet the following requirements, inter alia:

Central Committee on Degrees and Titles, pursuant to Article 5(2) of the Act of 14 March 2003 on degrees and scientific title and on degrees and title in the field of Art (Journal of laws of 2017, item 1789) in connection with article 175 of the act of 3 July 2018 Regulations introducing the Law on Higher Education and Science (Journal of laws of 2018, item 1669), decided to grant from September 30, 2019 the right to grant the degree of Doctor of Social Sciences in the discipline of Educationas a result of a proceeding initiated at the request of the Faculty of Social Sciences of the Christian Theological Academy in Warsaw of April 26, 2019 by the Christian Theological Academy in Warsaw.
